This is not possible. I cannot score low in PTE writing module! I had opted for all the questions so well. Most often when you ask a PTE test taker about the reason for the low scores, you will get this answer.
Pearson Test of Exam or PTE- A exam comes with a lot of unfeasible expectations and endless anxieties. The test assesses the proficiency of non-native speakers in the English language and includes four modules Speaking, Writing, Listening and Reading. Among which, the writing one has always been a tough nut to crack.
PTE Writing Format comprises of two sections, “Summarize Written Text” and “Write an Essay”. A large number of PTE test takers find both the sections a bit intimidating as it requires them to respond in standard academic English. The scoring parameters of both the sections are based on various factors including content, grammar, spelling, punctuation, vocabulary and structure.
Are you also among those who failed to achieve the targeted score in the writing section or feel nervous of attempting one due to lack of knowledge? Given below are some of the most useful strategies you can follow to prepare for the exam well.
Unfamiliarity with the concept will only let you up the creek without a paddle:
The first and the foremost step to get started with either Writing Essay or summarising written text is to read the question carefully and understanding it completely. Basically, you have to analyse two broad questions, which include: What is the subject of the topic and what does the question require me to do?
Construct your content and stick to your thoughts:
You can either support or go against the topic when structuring your essay. Whatever side you choose, make sure you stick to it. Changing the mind halfway or wandering off topic will only waste your valuable time and scores. The only way to stick to your points while writing in PTE exam would be to choose the direction you want your content to sway in and then not digress!
Time Management helps you win half the battle:
You’ll have 10 minutes for summarise written text and 20 minutes for writing. That certainly doesn’t leave much time for thinking. And that is why, biggest achievers in the history of exams have recommended practice. Practicing your test in a time bound fashion regularly, is how you learn time management. You will know exactly how much time you need to understand, think, and then finally write your answer – and subsequently improve yourself too.
The result of your PTE test would have a far reaching impact on your career – a better score would mean you getting a better opportunity to make your career choices. It obviously doesn’t mean you should stress out over it; but you shouldn’t take it too easy either. Make the best use of quality coaching or online PTE writing practise materials and clear your exam in one go.
