Since first picking up a guitar at age twelve and enjoying the immense boost in self- confidence and artistic expression music has given him since then, Josh Aveling has been passionate about sharing these valuable life skills with children and adults alike.
With two bachelor degrees in music performance from the prestigious Western Australia Academy of Performing Arts and also the Victorian College of the Arts, Josh brings seven years of tertiary classical music study, 22 years of performance experience, and twelve years of full-time teaching to the table with Media Luna Guitar Tuition.
Josh has performed all over Australia and America as a classical, flamenco, and rock guitarist, as well as playing mandolin and banjo, having recently secured an international endorsement with Deering Banjos from California.
Josh specializes in teaching Spanish flamenco, classical, blues and rock guitar, and possesses a current Victorian Working With Children check (03450904-01)

Media Luna understand the important and deeply valuable life skills that acquiring musical proficiency can provide for children and adults alike. From improving self-confidence, to stimulating both the left- and right-brain and developing cognitive thinking skills, lessons with Media Luna aim to not only give students a sound understanding of musical theory and performance, but also equip them with improved self-esteem and problem solving abilities.
MEDIA LUNA GUITAR TUITION:
Media Luna focuses on results-based tuition with a strong alignment and sound understanding of both the VCE music performance and Australian Music Examinations Board curricula. This enables students to progress through their
studies with nationally recognized grades, and provides parents with the knowledge that their child is performing and understanding music at a nationally regulated level.
Media Luna also offer adult tuition, and specialize in providing the skills required to not only play guitar, but understand songwriting structures and empower the client to be able to confidently understand how to play songs by ear.
