At Skills Beyond School, I am passionate about teaching my students to look beyond the constraints of high school, and develop skills that will carry them through life.
I achieved an ENTER of 93.9 after completing the International Baccalaureate, and have since graduated from RMIT University with a degree in Interior Design. I am a self-proclaimed book-worm, and have always had a passion for English, History and Art.
I am currently completing the Cambridge University course in teaching English as a Second Language (CELTA). This course is internationally recognised as the most highly regarded ESL course available.
My practice follows two pathways, which overlap when required. I work with high school and VCE students to improve their English scores and grow their confidence. I also work with non-native English speakers who are wishing to increase their grasp of the language.
My rate is $50 per hour and incorporates my exclusive goal-achieving framework. This framework teaches my students to place their English improvement within a broader context that looks beyond their current circumstance. We examine why their current English tasks are important, what skills can be gained from successfully completing the task, and how the task will move them closer towards accomplishing their aspirations. Together, we explore their short and long term goals and put in place strategies and actions to accomplish these. Each week, we set tasks which will move them closer towards accomplishing their goals.
HIGH SCHOOL ENGLISH:
My focus is teaching my students skills which will carry them through life, not just VCE. Many students are so caught up in their high school studies, they lose sight of why they are studying English. To me, increasing your literacy, writing and communication skills goes far beyond achieving a certain ATAR. I aim to inspire my students to understand that I am teaching them skills that they can carry through to the work place, further education and every-day life.
I am passionate about seeing my non-native clients increase their understanding of written and conversational English. If you, or someone you know, is struggling with the language after moving to Australia, I can assist by providing a stimulating, engaging and inspiring space to improve. My skills from the CELTA course ensure I can bring specialist techniques to improve all aspects of your learning.

My students often find it is beneficial to book in their sessions a term at a time. This allows them a consistent appointment time. In recognition of this on-going work together, I offer every 8th session at half price ($25).
