Becky Meimaris is a graduate from the Queensland Conservatorium of Music where she completed a degree in Performance - Jazz Drums. She has also completed a Graduate Diploma of Education where she majored in instrumental and classroom teaching.
Becky teaches a wide range of genres including jazz, classical, funk, Latin, hip-hop, blues, rock, pop and more. She teaches a wide range of percussion including drum kit, mallets, auxiliary and other orchestral and world percussion. Students can either learn a wide range on percussion or focus on one instrument (e.g. drum kit). Becky also has an understanding of musical examination processes so students are able to sit exams (AMEB, Trinity Guildhall etc.) if desired.
As a teacher, Becky's aim is to inspire her students to think creatively and use music to enrich lives. She does this by designing entertaining, interactive lessons that make learning the skills and techniques required to play percussion instruments fun. Becky is always researching for new teaching methods, skills and genres to ensure both her students stay engaged and her teaching remains current. If you would like to begin lessons with Becky, feel free to contact me to further discuss with her.
