About Me

Alex is an artist-maker-tinkerer-teacher crafting miniature artifacts and creating portable art-making spaces.

Alex is a lifelong fan of the wonder that comes from transforming actual stuff with your bare hands.

She refuses to play with black or beige and is really more interested in the act of making than the art itself.

One of her obsessions is beautifully combining that which 'shouldn't' be combined. Another is experimenting with the ways we learn and understand things.

Since she started 'officially' teaching in 2013 – Alex has created and led workshops for over 600 attendees for Australian Art and Design leaders: Bundanon Trust, Koskela, The Art Gallery of NSW, Object Gallery, Kinfolk and Etsy. Alex holds a Bachelor of Fine arts (Textiles and Education) from COFA in Sydney and has over a decade of professional experience making stuff with her hands.
