I have taught English to students from diverse backgrounds in a variety of educational settings. I have a track record of producing excellent results for VCE English students, having taken a number of students from a C at the beginning of the year to an A on the final exam.
I can provide assistance with all aspects of studying English. This includes text comprehension/analysis, essay writing, language analysis, and creative writing. I have extensive experience helping students of all ability levels – as such, I can tailor my approach to suit your needs and goals.
I am an experienced Literature teacher. I have worked in a variety of learning settings to help students from diverse backgrounds achieve their learning goals. Whether you’re a student struggling to keep up or a gifted student looking to broaden your knowledge, I can tailor my tutoring style to your needs.
As a tutor I help students with all aspects of studying Literature. This includes text comprehension, analysis, and essay writing. I teach students how to read texts through a number of critical lenses, which is crucial to doing well in the subject. In addition, I help students with SAC and exam revision and preparation.
I have been fortunate to study and teach philosophy extensively. In my current teaching role I have improved my school's median study score for Philosophy and have had a student win a Premier's VCE Award for excellence in the subject. In the past I have taught philosophy at Monash University and both public and private high schools. I have also been a judge at the Philosothon, a philosophy competition for high school students.
As a tutor I help students with all aspects of studying philosophy. I guide students through philosophical texts by clarifying points of confusion and teaching them how to ‘unpack’ dense texts. In addition, I work with students to improve and develop their critical thinking skills. This makes a significant difference on the marks they receive at the end of the year. Further, I teach students how to improve their philosophical expression, which is particularly valuable for VCE students aiming for a high study score.
