Hi, I'm Oliver and I offer private lessons to children and adults in English, ESL, maths, writing and other school subjects in Griffith and surrounding areas.
I can teach you or your child how to communicate clearly, conduct research, analyse concepts and structure any form writing. I also help with HSC/exam preparation, homework, assignments and job applications. My lessons are engaging and interactive, and I always track students' progress to ensure we make gains from each class.
I've worked as a qualified ESL teacher in Turkey and Ecuador; as a writing tutor for Sydney Story Factory; and as a mentor for two Year 9 students at Granville Boys High through the Youth Frontiers program. I have a Master's degree in Public Policy and Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL).
Writing is my main strength, as I also work as a freelance writer/journalist. I've been published by The Guardian, Sydney Morning Herald, ABC, SBS, Herald Sun and Daily Telegraph. In 2016, I won the Ossie Award for best written article by a postgraduate student, and was nominated by UTS as Australian journalism student of the year. I love to teach others how to write in a compelling way.
I offer a free discussion of student needs and free initial half-an-hour lesson for you to decide if I'm the right tutor for you.
