About Me

Following many years of tutoring in Australia and Hong Kong, I have developed a holistic and engaging approach to tuition. I specialise in private tutoring in the following disciplines:

-English
-English Literature
-English Language
-French
-Spanish
-Verbal/non verbal reasoning

I am acutely aware of the requirements of multiple international and domestic curricula, however my expertise resides mostly in VCE, IB, IGCSE and A-level, SAT and ACT, as well as Scholarship/Selective School entrance examinations (ISEB Common Entrance 11+/13+, ACER, EduTest) and Oxford and Cambridge (Oxbridge) University admissions tests (MLAT, ELAT).

Many of my students have gone on to gain access to coveted independent and private schools around the world. Domestically, I have assisted students in their studies towards places at MLC, Melbourne Grammar School and King David. Internationally, I have worked with children from elite schools in the UK, such as Eton College, Cheltenham Ladies' College (CLC) and Tunbridge. I am well acquainted with the application and selection process for many schools of this tier.

Testimonials:

With Emma's help and guidance our daughter was confident enough to apply to Oxford University and has been offered a place. The fact that Emma was highly capable and therefore able to teach outside the normal A level syllabus helped our daughter enormously in preparation for the rigorous extra Oxbridge examinations and interviews she needed to do.

Emma's love of linguistics is very apparent in all of her teaching and her ability to inspire and to get the best out of her students is testament to her kind and calm nature. Emma was always kind, supportive, encouraging and immensely professional. Her time keeping was exemplary.

I wholeheartedly recommend Emma as a highly capable and professional language teacher.
